Croatia Airlines

Continental Airlines

With a bit of extra horizontal stretching to align with the original Continental typeface

Cathay Pacific

The small caps feature of Photoshop really doesn't work well with Comic Sans and this treatment really spoils Cathay... Yuck.

Brussels Airlines

British Airways

The nation's favourite airline - now in improved Comic Sans flavour

Tuesday 1 December 2009

Alitalia

Would or should the red addition be in this orientation - or would it come vertically from the bottom? Here is an Italian looking take on Comic airlines.

airTran

The stroke weight of the large Comic 'a' is too heavy with a simple scaling, but you get the idea.

Air France

Air France's new look logo doesn't look right in Comic Sans!

Air Berlin

Air Philippines

Air New Zealand

I wonder if Albion London will adopt this comic variant for their new campaigns for Air New Zealand?

AEROMEXICO

Dark blue. Eagle head. Kinda goes with the Comic Brands

AEROFLOT

Taking some liberties with the name and the Russian character forms Comic Sans - but all characters are comic based

AA

The non-symmetrical comic As throw the logo out from the centre

And so to airlines

How would the world's airlines look in Comic Sans? What would our favourite airline be?

Comic Technology Brands Compared

Looking at the previous logos it's easy to spot a few similarities. There's a love of the uppercase, of the bright red and the strong blue. Red seems to be favoured by the Japanese, with Fijitsu, Hitachi, JVC, Ricoh, Sanyo, Sharp and Toshiba.

Blue for a more European or American look, with Nokia, Philips, Motorola. But Epson and Casio demonstrate the Japanese light red too.

In order to find some differentiation, a few technology companies try red with lowercase and usually an added stick on graphic device.

Yamaha

New 3D badge doesn't really fit with the new Comic Sans treatment, but does have a web2.0 feel to it.

Sunday 29 November 2009

Xerox

Fattened up Comic Sans for the name - red but lowercase. Existing spherical 'X' ball.

Saturday 28 November 2009

Western Digital

With modified WD mark constructed from Comic Sans face and an overlaid tapered line. Feels strangely similar.

Wacom

Looks at home with lowercase Comic Sans - extra faux bold and wide tracking add the finishing touch.

Friday 27 November 2009

Toshiba

Yet another red uppercase electronics brand rendered in Comic Sans.

Tomtom

Complete with enlarged lower case 'm' - it's almost a good fit with Comic Sans but does look like a 3 year old has typeset it.

TDK

SUN Microsystems

With manipulated comic sans 'n' for authentic SUN square.

SONY

It's a SONY just isn't the same in Comic Sans. Much more FONY than SONY.

Sony Ericsson

Comic Sans just doesn't rock the SE brand

SIEMENS

Ruined in Comic Sans - where is that German efficiency and engineering prowess

SHARP

Sanyo

Red Sanyo logo looking fresh in Comic Sans with added white tapered stripes for added difference

Wednesday 25 November 2009

Samsung

This logo needs a bit more work to make it more authentic, but hey it does have a bevelled ellipse to go with its new Comic Sans treatment.

Sagem

At least its not red and has a comic shaped graphic device. Optically the S and A look smaller in Comic Sans.

RICOH

Looking a lot like Canon, Fujitsu, Hitachi, JVC, Oracle, Sharp, Toshiba. What is with red and technology. IN this case Comic Sans is the great electronics leveller.

Monday 23 November 2009

Polaroid

I do like their use of colour. Now with extra faux fat black Comic Sans.

Pioneer

Pioneer in forced italic - would the sell as many souped up car radios to young men with a logo like this?

Philips

Keeping it simple - blue and comic. The Sense and Simplicity can come later.

Palm

A recently rebranded Palm - feels just that bit more Web2.0 - better suited to Comic Sans too.

Oracle

Spot the difference people - a friendly Comic Sans enterprise - feels so cuddly and warm.

Olympus

Looks like a cheap Greek travel agent - blue, orange and comic - fit for the Gods indeed...

Sunday 22 November 2009

nVIDIA

With lowercase n for added Comic authenticity

NOKIA

I'm sure this little beauty in Comic Sans will connect with even more people...

Nintendo

Would you really notice the difference? Comic Sans, Nintendo and bright red - made for each other.

NEC

The C in NEC is the same size I promise - maybe its like that for added comic appeal.

Saturday 21 November 2009

Motorola

Wondering if the M of Motorola should have been redrawn in Comic Sans for added authenticity

Friday 20 November 2009

Logitech

You'd almost think Comic Sans was the legitimate choice for Logitech

Tuesday 17 November 2009

LG

Wednesday 11 November 2009

Kodak

Complete with modified Comic Sans k for the main motif

Saturday 7 November 2009

JVC

JBL
